LnP is looking for a volunteer Special Assistant to provide administrative and creative support to the Chief Visionary and when hired, our Operations Director. S/he will be organized, reliable, enjoy working with different audiences
(volunteers, potential donors, advisory board members) and eager to
gain hands-on experience working with a startup nonprofit.
Tasks/Projects include but not limited to:
- creating office documents
- writing copy for marketing materials
- conducting internet research
- work closely with the staff to design and launch new programs
- preparing presentations
- nonprofit outreach
Qualifications
- Degree or completed college coursework in business administration or nonprofit management
- Experienced user of social media including such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter
- Self-motivated and a quick learner
- Excellent organizational, written and oral communications skills
- Can work independently and collaborates well with others
- Analytical, detail oriented and possess exceptional follow through
- Proficient in Microsoft applications specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Location
The Special Assistant will volunteer on-site at our office in Pleasant
Valley, New York. To
accommodate your schedule, you can also be a virtual volunteer. Volunteers residing (or in school) within 15 miles of
Poughkeepsie, New York are preferred.
Commitment
We are asking that the Special Assistant volunteer at least five to ten (5-10) hours per week. Most or all of the work can be done from home. Inquire within to learn more.
